    Vocational education is a career path that allows people to continue their education following high school without the time and financial commitment of a four-year college or university. Vocational educational training programs may last a few weeks to a few years, with students having the ability to earn a certification or associate's degree.   Some years ago I was hired by Norway's Ministry of Education to train vocational education teachers.
